The very first time Gaz, Geoff and myself met and jammed, the start of this track was the result.
It followed a morning of scooting around Brisbane trying to find a guitar cabinet after our old bassist assured me there'd be one at the practice room we loaned, and I needn't worry about bringing my own.... We now practice a few doors down from where we had that first rehearsal.
The track still has an awesome amount of nostalgia, and still evokes the emotion it did when I realised that we were onto something unexpected.
......Four years later it was finished!

Quandary was a band that existed from 2006-2011, consisting of guitarist Sam Vallen, drummer Geoff Irish, keyboardist Gareth Hogan, and bassist Dave Couper. Quandary saw active gigging bands with no recorded works, and decided to do the opposite, releasing an album before a single performance. The third Sanctuary album is also the best of the trilogy. This one dares even more to expand the Oldfieldian style in new and exciting directions. It may be sacrilege to suggest it, but if this *were* a genuine Oldfield album, many might say it was one of his best, too. It's true that Rob Reed is standing on the shoulders of a giant, but he is a giant talent in his own right. Often the music brings tears to the eyes, as if it were the soundtrack to the climax of a hard-won cinematic story.

Of the two albums I own of Matt, this is my favourite. Song structures are interesting and Matt employs a variety of guitar-playing techniques to good effect. Expressive stuff, & good background music. If I have any quibbles at all, it’s that I find the drumming a bit annoying, at times. Thanks, Matt! 7.5/10.
